Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the leading causes of death in Australia. A patient’s chances of survival following cardiac arrest decreases every minute that passes before defibrillation is commenced. It is now known that early defibrillation can increase the chances of survival after a sudden cardiac arrest.
There is a growing trend in Australia to implement automated external defibrillators. These can have a positive impact on survival by enabling first aiders to respond with a life saving shock within the first 2 to 3 critical minutes when survival is so much more likely. The Defibrillation Training Course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to use automated external defibrillators.
